Craig was chosen by Bernard to help build the SOS sign. Craig is an uncredited background extra character, whose name has been inferred from the dialog of other characters.

Craig is present for many occurrences on the beach, including seeing the Monster on the first night. He sees Jin attack Michael over the rolex watch. He helped move the survivors to a new camp when the ocean washed away the fuselage. He is
present when Scott is killed and at Boone's funeral. He is present when Claire shows the camp her new baby, Aaron, and when Michael, Sawyer and Jin arrive with the tailies. He was also part of the core group of background characters working on the raft after it was burnt in "...In Translation". He is seen several times in "Through the Looking Glass", walking to the radio tower.

Note

Although it may be deduced from the transcript dialog ("S.O.S.") that this character's name is "Craig", this labeling of this specific background actor (Chris Candella) was almost certainly not a decision of the writers or casting and therefore any narrative of this background character's biography is primarily a fan-creation.

The name "Craig" is mentioned in the S.O.S. transcript by Bernard on both the United States closed captioning, as well as on the DVD subtitles:
Bernard: Hey, Richard, Craig, Jerome, come here

In the scene Bernard calls out to Craig, Richard, and Jerome, the three background extras he's speaking to each respond individually to a different name. Background actors Chris Candella and Bryan Sato each respond to Craig and Richard, respectively.
